What should I provide when requesting an appointment?

Provide the document type, number of signers, appointment address, preferred date and time, deadline, witness requirements and any instructions from the receiving organization.

What identification should I bring?

Bring an acceptable government-issued identification document. If your identification is expired, damaged, temporary or unusual, contact Kerrie before the appointment.

Can I sign the document before Kerrie arrives?

Wait to sign unless the document instructions or receiving organization clearly permit advance signing. Some notarial acts require the signature to occur in the notary’s presence.

Can a notary explain or prepare my legal document?

No. A notary who is not acting as your attorney cannot select, draft or explain legal documents or provide legal advice. Contact the document provider or an attorney with legal questions.

Do all signers have to appear personally?

Each person whose signature is being notarized must personally appear before the notary through the legally permitted in-person or remote process.

Can you provide witnesses?

Clients generally provide their required witnesses. Witness coordination may be available for an additional fee when requested and confirmed in advance.

Can you notarize at a hospital or care facility?

Yes, when permitted by the facility. The signer must be willing, sufficiently aware and able to communicate directly with the notary. Staff availability does not guarantee witness availability.

Do you offer same-day, evening or weekend service?

Yes, subject to availability. Urgent, evening or weekend appointments may have additional charges that are confirmed before scheduling.

Do you offer online notarization?

Yes. Kerrie is an authorized Indiana Remote Online Notary. Eligible documents may be completed through a secure live audio-video appointment.

Can you guarantee the document will be accepted?

No. The notarial act is completed carefully, but the receiving court, agency, lender, title company or other organization determines final acceptance.
